23. Many – much

Местоимение many много употребляется с исчисляемыми существительными, much много – с неисчисляемыми существительными или самостоятельно, т. е. без существительного:

many books/cities/countries/people

much trouble/time/information/money.

Note: Слово much также употребляется как наречие и существительное, например: to read/to speak/to walk much.

Would you like some cheese? Не хотите (немного) сыра?

2) в отрицательных предложениях, если сказуемое употребляется в отрицательной форме:

в отрицательных предложениях, при этом сказуемое употребляется в утвердительной форме:

28. Somebody – anybody – nobody

2) в отрицательных предложениях, если сказуемое употребляется в отрицательной форме:

I didn't see anybody in the house.

Anybody can do this job.

nobody

Nobody could help me.
