From the Editor

Since the first issue of the Positive Changes Journal saw light a year ago, the world has changed beyond recognition. For many people, 2022 was a serious challenge and test of strength. The following questions became of utmost importance:

What can be done when you feel that nothing can be done?

Where to find internal and external resources when there seems to be no one to help?

Where do you get the inspiration to make a change?

We decided to search for answers to these questions in this last issue of 2022. The topic of this issue is civic activism – how people can create positive change regardless of external conditions, by relying on themselves, on the power of their community, and mutual assistance; how they can become "people of impact,” no matter how difficult the situation. Starting with this issue, we have a new column titled "People of Impact.” This is where we will share inspiring stories of the people who managed to achieve substantial changes in their communities, regions, and even countries. In this issue, we also honor the winners of the Positive Changes Journal's First Annual Awards – experts, authors, and organizations making significant contributions to the development of social and economic impact assessment. You will find a report about the award and an impact investment-oriented overview of the year's results in the following pages. This issue is dedicated to those who keep the inner light shining and continue to create positive changes, against all odds. It is about the power of association, about the power of personality, about the power of community, and about the fact that everyone has limitless possibilities.
