PESCO (Permanent Structured Cooperation) – это программа Общей политики безопасности и обороны Европейского союза, запущенная в декабре 2017 г. Ее целью является содействие развитию оборонного сотрудничества между государствами-членами. На данный момент большинство стран – членов ЕС реализуют через PESCO в общей сложности более шестидесяти проектов, охватывающих различные аспекты оборонного сотрудничества – от кибербезопасности до разработки новых систем вооружений.

Петерсбергские миссии (Petersberg Tasks) – военные задачи, определенные в Петерсбергской декларации, принятой министрами Западноевропейского союза в 1992 г. Они были интегрированы в ЕС в 1997 г. по результатам принятия Амстердамского договора. Основные операции Петерсбергских миссий включают: гуманитарные и спасательные задачи, поддержание мира, кризисное управление, совместные действия по разоружению, поддержку третьих стран в борьбе с терроризмом.
