The knife plunged deep, not in the flesh,
But in the heart, where trust did rest.
A whispered lie, a broken vow,
A friendship shattered, somehow.
The seeds of doubt, they slowly grew,
In fertile soil of what was true.
A poisoned vine, it twisted tight,
Choking the light, and stealing sight.
The mask of love, it fell away,
Revealing darkness, come to stay.
A bitter truth, a cruel embrace,
Leaving only emptiness in its place.
The wound still bleeds, a constant pain,
A reminder of the trust in vain.
But from the ashes, strength will rise,
To heal the heart, and learn to prize.
The lessons learned, though hard to bear,
Will make us stronger, beyond compare.
For trust betrayed, a bitter sting,
But also a chance, to learn to sing.
To sing of hope, and find anew,
A love that's true, and strong, and true.
To build again, on solid ground,
Where trust and love, can truly be found.
